This brings BT's FTTP offering more in line with that of Virgin Media.  More information can be found at

Woburn Sands phone exchange is now offering 21CN WBC (Wholesale Broadband Connect). This upgrade is significant and means that Woburn Sands is now connected to BT's new IP network and is one of the key steps towards the Exchange being fibre capable.

This gives residence in Woburn Sands, Wavendon and Wavendon Gate access to a greater number of service provides utilising ADSL2+ upto 20Mbps technology.

It appears this upgrade has been delivered earlier than anticipated. MK BAG understand from sources within BT that work on implimentation of FTTC and FTTP to areas in Woburn Sands, Wavendon and Wavendon Gate will commence very shortly and is scheduled to be available to large numbers of consumers by March 2013.

However, residence in Wavendon and Wavendon Gate who are some considerable distance from the Exchange are unlikely to notice any improvement in their broadband service.
