BT Openreach has demonstrated 10Gbps XGPON as an overlay to the existing FTTP GPON network in Cornwall.

More information can be found at

MK BAG anticipates around 20,000 homes in MK will be capable of being connected to BT's FTTP network by early 2013 with 95+% of properties and businesses in urban Milton Keynes having have FTTP connectivity as an option via BT's FTTP on demand product by 2014.

BT is likely to trial the 10Gbps in 2013/2014 in an urban area such as MK.

The v3 article also includes statement from an executive in BT which suggests BT have completely scrapped plans to use LTE as infill within Cornwall and will instead focus on satellite solutions.
